School Readiness Programme
A structured morning programme that prepares children for the classroom, long before they ever walk into one. We build routine, independence, and confidence, one small milestone at a time.
- Routine - Circle time, structured transitions, and predictable schedules that mirror a real classroom day.
- Social - Turn-taking, group instructions, and peer play in a small, supported group setting.
- Pre-academic - Early literacy, numeracy, and fine motor readiness built through play, not worksheets.
- Independence - Self-help skills — sitting, listening, following two-step instructions, managing belongings.
- Transition - A gradual, supported handover to mainstream or specialised school, guided by our team.

Built on Belief
Hope Brings Change was founded by Srijna Labana, who brings over 25 years of experience across the UK and India in paediatric therapy and special needs care. Her journey began with a deeply personal turning point — an encounter with autism that reshaped how she saw children, ability, and potential. Out of that moment came a single, unshakable belief: no child should be defined by their diagnosis.
Today, that belief shapes everything at Hope Brings Change — from how we design therapy programmes to how we walk alongside families. We believe hope is an active force. When hope is combined with the right support, change follows. To every family who walks through our doors: you are seen, supported, and never alone.

What Families Say About Us
Every milestone tells a story. Hear directly from the families who have trusted us with their child's journey.
A Continuing Journey from Norway: Four Years, Three Visits, One Steady Partnership
Not every family’s journey is a single trip — some are an ongoing relationship. One family from Norway first brought their son to Hope Brings Change four years ago, when he was a preschooler newly diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This year marks his third in-person visit to Gurugram.
The First Visit
When he first arrived, his parents were navigating early, unfamiliar territory — limited services back home, a long waitlist, and a son who struggled with communication, transitions, and engaging in structured activities. Their first stay in Gurugram was a few weeks of focused, daily therapy: an introduction to what consistent, intensive intervention could look like.
Building Continuity, Not Starting Over
What’s made this family’s journey different is what happens between visits. Rather than starting fresh each time they return, our team has continued supporting him remotely — running regular online sessions in Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, and Behaviour Therapy in the years between in-person stays. Each return trip builds directly on that continuity, rather than re-establishing rapport and routines from scratch.
Four Years of Progress
Over three visits and years of consistent online support, his communication has grown from absence of functional language to confident, connected conversation. His sensory regulation and behavioural strategies have matured alongside him — adapting as a four-year-old’s needs become a seven- or eight-year-old’s needs. Each in-person visit now serves less as “starting therapy” and more as a chance for hands-on, intensive recalibration: refining skills, addressing new goals, and giving his Norway-based routine a boost.
Why They Keep Coming Back
His parents have described this relationship as something they didn’t expect when they first travelled to India — not a one-time intervention, but a long-term partnership that travels with their family, wherever they are.
“He’s grown up with this team. Every time we come back, it doesn’t feel like we’re starting over — it feels like picking up where we left off.”
Their son’s continuing journey reflects something Hope Brings Change sees often: families who began with a single visit and stayed connected for years, combining in-person intensives with ongoing online therapy to keep progress moving, no matter the distance.
Meet Niko, Our Therapy Puppy!
Niko has quickly become a favourite among our children. The moment he walks into the room, smiles light up their faces. They run to greet him, cuddle him, feed him, gently pet him, and eagerly ask, "Where's Niko?"
Through these joyful interactions, children naturally develop:
- Empathy and compassion
- Communication and social skills
- Confidence and emotional regulation
- Responsibility and gentle hands
- Motivation to participate in therapy
Blog: What Is DMI?
DMI (Dynamic Movement Intervention) is a specialised, hands-on therapy that helps children build strength, stability, and independent movement — particularly children with cerebral palsy, low muscle tone, or other gross motor delays.
A trained therapist uses their hands to guide your child through key movement sequences — from sitting, to crawling, to standing and walking — gradually reducing support as your child's own muscles take over. It's active, not passive, which is what makes the progress so meaningful.
Sessions are often delivered in intensive blocks, followed by a home programme to keep building on progress in between. DMI works well on its own or alongside occupational therapy, speech therapy, or NDT, depending on your child's goals.
Wondering if DMI is right for your child?
We're happy to talk it through with you.
NDT vs DMI: What's the Difference?
If your child's therapy plan involves movement-based therapy, you've probably come across two acronyms that sound similar but aren't quite the same thing: NDT and DMI. Both are hands-on approaches used to help children move more freely and independently — but they go about it in different ways.
Here's a simple breakdown of what sets them apart, and why your child might benefit from one, the other, or both.
What Is NDT?
NDT (Neuro-Developmental Treatment) takes a whole-body view of movement. Rather than isolating one skill at a time, it looks at how posture, muscle tone, balance, and coordination all work together — and gently guides a child's body toward better patterns of movement during everyday actions like rolling, sitting, and reaching.
Sessions tend to be gentle and integrated, with the therapist using guided handling to help the body "feel" more efficient movement, building quality and control over time.
What Is DMI?
DMI (Dynamic Movement Intervention) is more targeted. It focuses on specific movement milestones — going from lying to sitting, crawling, kneeling, standing, and eventually walking — using hands-on scaffolding that's gradually reduced as the child's own muscles take over.
Sessions are often more active and intensive, delivered in focused blocks over consecutive days, followed by a home programme to build on the gains in between.
The Key Differences
| Feature | NDT | DMI |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | Whole-body movement quality | Specific movement milestones |
| Approach | Guided handling, integrated into everyday movement | Hands-on scaffolding through targeted sequences |
| Style | Gentle, ongoing | Active, structured, often intensive |
| Session pattern | Regular sessions | Intensive blocks + home programme |
| Best for | Broad postural and coordination support | Working toward specific gross motor goals |
Do Children Need Both?
Often, yes. Many children benefit from combining the two — NDT builds the underlying foundation of movement quality, while DMI drives focused progress toward specific milestones like sitting unsupported or taking first steps. Neither approach replaces the other; they complement each other well as part of a broader therapy plan.
The right combination depends on your child's current abilities, goals, and how they respond to each style of therapy — which is why an initial assessment matters so much in getting the plan right.
Not sure which approach fits your child best?
